Title: Frill Necked Lizard
Format: Public Installation
Location: Anula Primary School, Darwin, NT
Carved from African Mahogany, felled during Cyclone Marcus, this sculpture celebrates the Frilled Neck Lizards living within our urban environment around Darwin, specifically Anula Parkland. These iconic reptiles have declined significantly over the years due to the introduction of cane toads, cats and dogs in urban areas and habitat loss. Community awareness and education is crucial in preserving these local prehistoric dragons so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
